Happy Wednesday!
The above image of Jeanne Wakatsuki was taken in 2012. Wakatsuki continues to this day to write and to speak about her experiences at Manzanar. Literature Assignments: Use the link below to read the "Afterword" of Farewell to Manzanar. Open a Google doc and label it with your last name (and first initial, if needed) and the words "Manzanar Afterword." Answer the following questions in your Google doc. This is due Thursday, April 30, by 7:00 PM. 1. When did Jeanne and her husband write the Afterword? Why do you think they added it to the book? 2. Jeanne and her husband write that they have seen three types of reactions to the book over the years, three ways that readers bring their own personal histories to it. What are these three reactions? 3. What about you? What is your reaction to the book? Do you fit into any of those categories of reactions? Do you see any connections between our experiences during this pandemic and Wakatsuki's experiences? Explain in thoughtful detail. Writing Assignments: 1. Watch the seven-minute video below to review verbals. I recommend watching it two or three times to study for the quiz. Pause if necessary and read all of the examples. 2. Look back at your exercises for participles, gerunds, and infinitives. 3. Take the 20-point quiz. This is due Thursday, April 30, by 7:00 PM. Comments are closed.

A Classroom Prayer
Holy Spirit, Giver of all good gifts, enter into my mind and heart. Give me the gift of knowledge and the grace to use it wisely. Help me in all my endeavors. Give me perseverance and fortitude. Help my memory, that I may remember what I learn and recall it when necessary. Guide me in the classroom.
O Jesus, You who are the Way, the Truth, and the Life, let me not be deceived by false teaching. Our Lady of Good Studies, pray for me. Amen. Mary, Undoer of Knots,
Pray for Us! A Prayer to Christ, the Divine Teacher
O source of all Wisdom, Christ the Teacher,
You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Teach us to embrace the truths You have revealed to Your Church. Fill our souls with Your Grace that we may love God above all and our neighbors as ourselves. Christ Jesus, friend and Teacher most patient, bless us and teach us. O Light of the world, teach us always to follow You that we should not walk in darkness, but have forever the Light of Life! Amen. Archives
