"Go for Broke" was the motto of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, a unit made up entirely of Nisei soldiers. It was the most decorated American unit in World War II and suffered the highest percentage of casualties and deaths. Through their sacrifice, they contributed to American victory and proved the loyalty of Japanese Americans. Wakatsuki writes about these soldiers in Chapter 11. (7 minutes)
