From 1563-1573 , Italian Artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo created a series of paintings of the four seasons. The paintings represent each season in a profile portrait made up of fruit, vegetables, and plants relevant to that season. Depicted here are winter on the left and fall on the right. Literature Assignment (Gold Day): 1. We are borrowing some literature class time today to review verbals. Please read all feedback on the graded creative writing paragraphs for participial phrases, gerund phrases, and infinitive phrases. 2. Using your handouts, complete the Verbals Review Activity at the link below. You may consult your notes, but please do the work on your own. This is due for points by the end of your ELA class block today. Be ready to discuss the reasons for your answers during our Google Meet class on Friday, December 11. The activity uses the essay "Why Leaves Turn Color in the Fall" by Diane Ackerman. 3. The Google Meet Invitation for 12-11-20 went out yesterday around noon. Unfortunately, many people did not check their emails and respond. Please follow directions. Thank you. Reminders: 1. Keep reading your nonfiction book for IR Project #3. A title slide, five quotation slides, and and five explanation slides are due on Tuesday, December 15, by 3:00 PM. The other half of the project will be due when we return from Christmas break. 2. A Classroom Prayer
Holy Spirit, Giver of all good gifts, enter into my mind and heart. Give me the gift of knowledge and the grace to use it wisely. Help me in all my endeavors. Give me perseverance and fortitude. Help my memory, that I may remember what I learn and recall it when necessary. Guide me in the classroom.
O Jesus, You who are the Way, the Truth, and the Life, let me not be deceived by false teaching. Our Lady of Good Studies, pray for me. Amen. Mary, Undoer of Knots,
Pray for Us! A Prayer to Christ, the Divine Teacher
O source of all Wisdom, Christ the Teacher,
You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Teach us to embrace the truths You have revealed to Your Church. Fill our souls with Your Grace that we may love God above all and our neighbors as ourselves. Christ Jesus, friend and Teacher most patient, bless us and teach us. O Light of the world, teach us always to follow You that we should not walk in darkness, but have forever the Light of Life! Amen. Archives
