Welcome to our second day of eLearning! UPDATE 12:10 PM, March 16: Access to YouTube through school Chromebooks should be available shortly. Mr. Meinerding is working on this. In the meantime, try accessing the documentary through another device. The title of the documentary is The Art of Gaman. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Fk8cHkCQV0&feature=youtu.be If you did not complete the assignments from Friday, March 13, please scroll down and read the information. Please complete and submit any missing work as soon as possible. Remember to check in here daily for assignments. I will be available each school day from 12:00-2:00 to answer your questions through email. I do check my email beyond those hours, however, and I will respond as soon as I can. Please remember that all blue highlights below are live links. Email me as soon as possible to let me know if any links do not work. Literature This is a two-day assignment. Please link to the article entitled "The Creative Art of Coping in Japanese Internment" at Actively Learn. The assignment begins with a 20-minute documentary. Just in case you have trouble opening the video at Actively Learn, here is a direct link to the documentary. You may watch the documentary today and then read the article and answer the questions tomorrow. All responses should be submitted for grading by Tuesday, March 17, at 7:00 PM. Writing Please finish the creative narrative paragraph using appositive phrases and two other sentence-composing tools. I have linked here to the Google Doc containing our class notes for the paragraph "Her World." Scroll to the last two pages for the instructions. Use the template sentences to craft your paragraph into your own Google Doc. Write your paragraph and share it with me through email. You may set the tone for this paragraph: humorous, serious, dramatic, sad, sarcastic--it's up to you. Make sure your last name (and first initial, if necessary) is in the document name. This is due by Monday, March 16, 7:00 PM. Additional Notes: Please help any classmates who may not be checking in with Jupiter, our English class website, or the links. A text, call, or email to remind someone about these resources could be very helpful to them. I hope you enjoyed the beautiful weather this past weekend and the time to be with your family! A Classroom Prayer
Holy Spirit, Giver of all good gifts, enter into my mind and heart. Give me the gift of knowledge and the grace to use it wisely. Help me in all my endeavors. Give me perseverance and fortitude. Help my memory, that I may remember what I learn and recall it when necessary. Guide me in the classroom.
O Jesus, You who are the Way, the Truth, and the Life, let me not be deceived by false teaching. Our Lady of Good Studies, pray for me. Amen. Mary, Undoer of Knots,
Pray for Us! A Prayer to Christ, the Divine Teacher
O source of all Wisdom, Christ the Teacher,
You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Teach us to embrace the truths You have revealed to Your Church. Fill our souls with Your Grace that we may love God above all and our neighbors as ourselves. Christ Jesus, friend and Teacher most patient, bless us and teach us. O Light of the world, teach us always to follow You that we should not walk in darkness, but have forever the Light of Life! Amen. Archives
