Literature
We wrapped up our discussion of the play, The Diary of Anne Frank during class today by sharing our responses to the questions on p. 637. We then began reading two excerpts from Anne's published diary on p. 712 and compared/contrasted the "voice" of the diary with the "voice" of Anne's character created in the play. We will continue this on Wednesday and read an excerpt from Miep Gies's memoir on p. 718. One of our objectives is to consider how works of literature build upon each other. Composition Students should bring all materials for the Heifer Argumentation Essay tomorrow. We discussed these today and reminded ourselves of the basic requirements and possible outline. We will use class time to draft and revise essays this week. Links and assignment are on this site under the Resources tab. IXL We previewed the pronoun skills today in CC.1 and CC.2, as well as the literary allusions exercise in UU.2. Students need to have this week's skill sets completed by 7:00 PM on Friday, April 15. Vocabulary Today, we studied the online flash cards at Quizlet.com for Unit #13. (Students need to keep visiting that site and make use of the games and activities there to help them learn the words.) We also reviewed the "Synonyms & Antonyms" and "Choosing the Right Word" exercises in the Sadlier-Oxford text. Our quiz will be on Friday, April 15. Homeroom Please remember to bring in signed forms for the Graduation Lunch and Graduation Picture--as well as a check for the picture. Thank you! Our next--and last--STEM day is this Friday, April 15. Come prepared to learn all you can! The above images provide some clues about our activity. Comments are closed.

A Classroom Prayer
Holy Spirit, Giver of all good gifts, enter into my mind and heart. Give me the gift of knowledge and the grace to use it wisely. Help me in all my endeavors. Give me perseverance and fortitude. Help my memory, that I may remember what I learn and recall it when necessary. Guide me in the classroom.
O Jesus, You who are the Way, the Truth, and the Life, let me not be deceived by false teaching. Our Lady of Good Studies, pray for me. Amen. Mary, Undoer of Knots,
Pray for Us! A Prayer to Christ, the Divine Teacher
O source of all Wisdom, Christ the Teacher,
You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Teach us to embrace the truths You have revealed to Your Church. Fill our souls with Your Grace that we may love God above all and our neighbors as ourselves. Christ Jesus, friend and Teacher most patient, bless us and teach us. O Light of the world, teach us always to follow You that we should not walk in darkness, but have forever the Light of Life! Amen. Archives
